Inspired by Peabody Maritime Heritage

BlackBall Logistics was founded by direct descendants of Charles E. Peabody, whose maritime leadership and connection to the Black Ball tradition form an important part of our family heritage.

Charles E. Peabody helped build major maritime operations in the Pacific Northwest, including the Alaska Steamship Company and Puget Sound Navigation Company. Puget Sound Navigation later operated under the Black Ball name and flag connected to his family’s maritime heritage.

That heritage reaches back to the historic Black Ball Line, which introduced regularly scheduled transatlantic departures in 1817 and began operating that service in 1818. Its commitment to sailing on established dates helped create a new standard for preparation, coordination, and dependable transportation.
